The Research Group Body and Image in Discourse aims to investigate rocesses of meaning making that involve: (a) the body, photography, film, among other visual and hybrid materialities in their relationship with language, history, culture, technology, and (b) the subject, as a body of affection, in the Spinozan sense explored by Deleuze and Guattari (1987), which affects and is affected by other bodies in processes of (un) identifications. Our studies are transdisciplinary and consist of dialogues with areas such as Applied Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Post-Colonialism, among others.
